Furniture Connector Plate Nut

Furniture Connector Plate Nut

We are a manufacturer of custom and standard OEM Iron Plate Nuts, a specialized furniture connector designed to provide a strong and reliable threaded anchor point in wood, composite, and metal panels. This 3-hole plate nut, also known as a T-nut plate or flange nut, is an essential piece of hardware for constructing sturdy furniture, particularly in applications requiring high strength and load distribution, such as attaching legs to tables or assembling bed frames. Made primarily from durable carbon steel and available in various finishes, this connector is a versatile solution for furniture manufacturing, home decoration, and other structural applications.

Product Details

This furniture connector is engineered to create a robust, permanent machine thread in materials where a simple wood screw or insert nut would be insufficient.

  • Structure: The component consists of a flat plate (flange) with three unthreaded mounting holes and a centrally located, internally threaded boss (nut). The three holes allow the plate to be securely fastened to a surface with screws, distributing the load over a wider area.
  • Function: It is designed to be surface-mounted or recessed into a panel. Once the plate is screwed into place, the central threaded hole provides a durable and reusable machine thread (M6, M8, or M10) for a bolt. This creates a much stronger connection than a screw threaded directly into wood, preventing stripping and pull-out.
  • Material and Finish: We offer these plate nuts in a variety of materials and finishes to meet diverse requirements for strength, cost, and corrosion resistance.
    • Materials: Carbon Steel (standard), Alloy Steel, Stainless Steel, Brass.
    • Finishes: Plain (unfinished), Zinc Plated (clear/blue/yellow/black), Black Oxide, Hot-Dip Galvanized (H.D.G.).

Product Features

Our connector plate nuts are a superior choice for high-strength furniture and structural joints:

  • High Strength Connection: Distributes the load across three fastening points, providing excellent resistance to pull-out and torque.
  • Durable Machine Threads: Creates a reusable and robust steel thread in softer materials like wood, MDF, and particleboard.
  • Versatility: Can be used in a wide range of applications beyond furniture, including metal fabrication and general construction.
  • Fully Customizable: As an OEM manufacturer, we can produce plate nuts to your exact specifications, including custom sizes, materials, and finishes.
  • One-Stop Service: We provide comprehensive support, including technical assistance, material sourcing, and test reports, to ensure you receive the perfect product for your needs.

Instructions for Use and Installation

  1. Select the Correct Nut: Choose the plate nut with the appropriate thread size (M6, M8, M10) for your bolt and assembly requirements.
  2. Pre-Use Inspection: Before installation, check the plate nut for any damage, deformation, or issues with the threads.
  3. Position and Secure: Place the plate nut on the surface of the furniture panel. Align it as needed and fasten it securely using three screws through the mounting holes. For a flush finish, you can create a recess for the plate to sit in.
  4. Assemble the Joint: Align the mating part and insert the corresponding bolt through it and into the central thread of the now-fixed plate nut.
  5. Tighten Evenly: Tighten the bolt to secure the joint. Apply even force and avoid overtightening to prevent damage to the threads or the panel material.
  6. Maintenance: For applications in humid or outdoor environments, periodically check for any signs of rust or loosening. Replace the hardware if its performance is compromised.
